Tile Mosaic Project – Keene Valley Central School
Sue was the artist in residence on this project that art teacher Cheryl McFadden put together. All the children and many teachers and some community members participated in making tiles for a history mosaic of Keene Valley on an outdoor wall of the school.

The mosaic is being laid out on a floor of the school by the students.
The Mural begins to come alive on the School Building.
A couple of close up details. Students created the individual tiles of buildings, events, animals and insects in the Keene Valley area. Sue worked on some of the larger images, like the boat and basket.
For me it seems that Teachers don’t get enough credit for the amazing work that they do. Knowing the dedication of time, resources and talent that Sue puts into these project is stunning.
Knowing the pride and appreciation of the children involved is another aspect. They are very proud to point out the tiles they worked on and know that this mural will always signify on the wall of their school, their time there.
