Last year Sue had an order for a butter dish and because it came from a long time customer and friend she made it. She made three, because she never makes just one and the other two sold quickly, one had a cow on the cover as a handle.
Sue throws on the wheel then alters the forms, these are the sides to the bottom and top.
From a slab of clay, Sue puts the bottom on the tray part and cuts out a shape for the top.
Sue shapes the top and attaches it from the top and from the inside.
The butter dish is ready for a handle, either a standard or a cow. The cow in the middle is sculpted from a solid piece of clay, the one of the right is created from a slab.
These are buttons that Sue made for peyote bracelets that Sue is making,
and here is a photo of the piano I mentioned in the last entry.
